DESIGNER DOGS & OUR REASON FOR CROSSBREEDING:
The ENGLISH MASTIFF, MASSIVE & SWEET- people just love the looks: large, loyal and loving. Short coat which is easy to take care of. When he sleeps, he really sleeps, and is known to be a 'couch potato'. The biggest drawback is the slobber or drooling, which can be a problem indoors, because when he shakes his head he can SLIME your room.
The GREAT PYRENEES has the size too; but is very gentle, with beautifully expressive eyes and a very loving personality. Their long white coat is lovely, but can take a lot of tending as it sheds in great big clumps. The Great Pyrenees was bred as a sheep-guard, so is very alert, and bred to travel with the sheep in the mountains, or on summer grazing. This desire is very strong, so when kept in a suburban environment the Pyrenees has the tendency to wander and will dig under(or go over a fence) to freedom. It will often bark at the slightest noise and for long periods of continual barking when confined to a fenced yard.
By crossing the English Mastiff with the Great Pyrenees, you create a fantastic, all- around family dog that has the best characteristics of both breeds. It is great with children, loving and loyal, also a good guard dog that is protective of its family. It is alert, but does not bark unnecessarily. In addition, it is reported that you add years to the Mastiff's life by crossing him/her with the Great Pyrenees!! This Cross may take the looks of the Mastiff, shorthaired and brindle or fawn with a black mask OR the look of the Great Pyrenees, with the long hair & add the spots, mask and head of the Mastiff. This Designer Dog is neither a wanderer, nor a couch potato and it doesn't drool. It is therefore a great dog for indoors or out. The most remarkable feature about this cross is that it is so willing to please and is naturally obedient.
These 'Designer Dogs' are a cross between two dogs of different breed; but are most certainly NOT a 'Heinz 57'. Crossbreeding of these two different breeds has many advantages. The most important one is that they are in much better health and have better stamina, which, frequently, pedigreed dogs lack (due to generations of inbreeding). This CROSS dooesn't have hip dysplasia or elbow dysplasia, heart or thyroid problems, eye or digestive problems, or other genetic and hereditary problems that a lot of today's dogs have due to inbreeding.
Our aim is to raise a happy, healthy dog with a good disposition and personality, that is loyal and beautiful and one that the whole family can enjoy and take anywhere.
